Min. [mod. f. Gr. ἀλιπ-ής without fat, not greasy + -ITE.] An apple-green, non-unctuous, earthy mineral, containing about 33 per cent. of Oxide of Nickel; placed by Dana in his Dioptase group of Hydrous Bisilicates.
