  TWO-LEGGED TYMPANY, subs. phr. (old).—A baby; spec. a bastard: see supra. Hence TO BE CURED OF A TYMPANY WITH TWO HEELS = to be brought to bed; cf. ‘a dropsy that will drop into the lap.’
