[Alexander Liholiho].  Nephew of the preceding; born in Hawaii on the 9th of February 1834. He was also educated by the American missionaries. After visiting the United States, England and France, he succeeded to the throne in 1854. He was handsome, amiable, fond of sports and military parades, but when excited with wine he became passionate and reckless. He died at Honolulu, at the age of twenty-nine on the 30th of November 1863.
