One of the “Pilgrim Fathers”; sailed for America in the first voyage of the Mayflower, and was an enterprising member of the colony until 1631, when he had a dispute with the settlers, and removed to Marblehead, establishing several trading-stations. He died in New Haven, in 1659. Allerton’s daughter, Mary, was the last survivor of the Mayflower company.
