[Paul Heinrich Emil; or Baehrens]. Classical scholar; born in Bayenthal, on the 24th of September 1848; died at Groningen, on the 26th of September 1888; graduated at Bonn in 1870; was elected professor of Latin at Groningen in 1877. He was the author of a great many articles on Latin philology, among them being Poetæ Latini Minores; Catullus; and Fragmenta Poetarum Romanorum.
