American poet, son of William Pinkney; born in London, England, on the 1st of October 1802. He published in 1825 Rudolph, and other Poems. In 1826 he became professor of belles-lettres and rhetoric in the University of Maryland, and in the following year was editor of the Marylander, a political newspaper. He died in 1828.
