American writer, born at Mount Washington, Berkshire County, MA, on the 29th of October 1866. She exhibited great precocity, and at an early age, with her sister Elaine, began to write verses, a selection of which appeared in St. Nicholas, December 1877; and both sisters afterward published several volumes conjointly (see Elaine Goodale Eastman). Dora afterward devoted herself to the study of art.
