Spanish prose writer of the thirteenth century. The date of his birth is a matter of conjecture, as well as the time of his death. The one work which causes him to be remembered was written in 1285, and under the title Cronica del Rey en Pere is an account of the reign of Pedro III. It is the oldest example of Catalan literature, and for that reason, if for no other, is of great value.
