French lawyer and historian, born in Paris on the 26th of January 1797; died in 1850. Among his works are The Court of Marie de Medicis (1830); History of France under the Ministry of Cardinal Mazarin (1837); Studies in History and Biography (1844); and The Nameless Epoch, a moral and historical essay on the condition of Paris after 1830.
