American poet, born at St. Michaels, MD, and early in life removed with her parents to Kentucky, residing first at Lexington, and later at Louisville. While in the latter city she became a contributor of prose and verse to the Journal over the signature of “Amelia.” Her productions elicited favorable comment and were subsequently collected and bound in volume form. She died at Louisville in 1852.
