Swedish historian, born at Landskrona on the 22nd of October 1809. From 1849 to 1855 he was professor of history at Lund. After his retirement from that post he devoted himself exclusively to literature. He published a large number of valuable historical works, including Memorials of the Ancient North (1835); Political History of Scania (1846–51); History of the Reign of Gustavus Adolphus (1857–72); and an unfinished History of the Thirty Years’ War (1876–80). He died at Stockholm on the 27th of May 1879.
