Min. [f. Gr. τόπαζο-ς topaz + λίθος stone: see -LITE.] A variety of garnet resembling topaz in color.

1819.  W. Phillips, Introd. Min. (1823), 31. Topazolite…. This variety of the garnet has been discovered within the last few years. It occurs in remarkably well-defined dodecahedral crystals, of a topaz yellow colour.
