  1.  In U.S., a name given to certain trees of N.O. Cyrillaceæ, as Cliftonia monophylla, Buckwheat tree, the Black Titi of Southern U.S., also to species of genus Cyrilla, esp. C. racemiflora, the Leatherwood of south-eastern U.S., distinguished as Red or White Titi.
