1828.  Philos. Mag., May, 398. The tautolite seems to be related to the chrysolite, as the ceylanite to the spinelle.

1868.  Dana, Min. (ed. 5), 286. Bucklandite is anhydrous allanite in small black crystals…. Tautolite … is probably the same species.
