Min. [a. F. sylvine (Beudant, 1832), from the old name of the salt, sal digestivus Sylvii ‘digestive salt of Sylvius’: see -INE5.] Native potassium chloride, occurring in some salt-mines and on Mount Vesuvius. Also called Sylvite.
