Ichth. [mod.L. (Willughby, a. 1672), a. Gr. στρωματεύς, a patchwork bed-cover (f. στρῶμα: see STROMA), used as a name for a flat-fish of divers colors.] A genus of flat fishes, typical of the family Stromateidæ.
