Forms: 6 beyram, 7 bairan, 8 bajram, bayram, 6– bairam. [Turk. baïrām, beïram, Pers. bairām.] The name of two Mohammedan festivals—the Lesser Bairam, lasting three days, which follows the fast of Ramadan, and the Greater Bairam, seventy days later, lasting four days.
