Phys. [mod.L., a. Gr. λύττα, Attic form of λύσσα LYSSA.] A vermiform structure in the tongue of various carnivora.

  In the dog it is vulgarly called ‘the worm,’ and supposed to be a parasite causing liability to rabies.
