Chem. [f. LOBELIA + L. ācri-, ācer sharp + -IN.] An acrid principle found in the leaves of Lobelia inflata.
1874. Flückiger & Hanbury, Pharmacographia, 358. This substance which we may term Lobelacrin, is decomposed if merely boiled with water; by the influence of alkalis or acids it is resolved into sugar and Lobelic Acid.
