Path. Less correctly leuc-, leukæmia. [mod.L. as if Gr. *λευχαιμία, f. λευκ-ός white + αἶμα blood.] Virchows name for a disease characterized by an excessive production of white corpuscles in the blood, with morbid affections of the spleen and other parts; called also LEUCOCYTHÆMIA.
