Herb. Also 7 assaraback, asarabecca. [f. L. asarum, a. Gr. ἄσαρον name of the same plant + bacca berry.] The plant Asarum Europæum, sometimes called Hazelwort, used formerly as a purgative and emetic, and still as an ingredient of cephalic snuff.
