Pl. -s. [a. L., a. Gr. ἀντίρρῑνον (also ἀνάρρῑνον), f. ἀντί opposite, counterfeiting + ῥιν-, (ῥίς) nose; from its resemblance to an animal’s mouth.] A genus of Scrophulariaceous plants, also called Snapdragon.
