Bot. [ad. mod.L. epilobium, f. Gr. ἐπί upon + λοβ-ός lobe of the ear, in plants the capsule or pod, the name referring to the position of the corolla.] A plant of the genus Epilobium (N.O. Onagraceæ): e.g., the Epilobium angustifolium or Willow-herb. Also in mod.L. form epilobium.
