Min. [f. Gr. ἐμβόλ-ιον an intermediate + -ITE; ‘because between the chlorid and bromid of silver’ (Dana).] ‘A chlorobromide of silver, Ag5 Br2 Cl3. It is perfectly malleable; has a resinous and somewhat adamantine lustre, and varies in colour from asparagus-green to pistachio, olive, and greyish-green’ (Watts, Dict. Chem.). Also attrib.
