Min. [f. AMPHIGENE + -ITE.] Name sometimes given to a lava containing much ‘amphigene’ or leucite.
1868. Dana, Min., 335. At Vesuvius [leucite] is thickly disseminated through the lava in grains, and the name leucitophyr and also amphigenyte has been given to such lavas.
