Chem. [f. AMMONI-UM + -IDE.] A combination of ammonium with a metallic or other oxide; called also ammoniuret, and formerly, as an ammonia salt, ammoniate. (Little used; these being now viewed as metallic (or other) salts of ammonium; as Carbonic ammonide = Ammonium carbonate.)
