[irregularly f. Gr. ἐκ out + δέρ-ος, δέρ-μα skin.] A term introduced by Prof. Huxley to denote the outer part of the skin and skin-like structures, including the epidermis, the epithelium, and all structures homologous with these. Opposed to ENDERON.
