[a. F. crosse:—OF. croce = It. croccia, hockey-stick, etc.: see CROSE.] The implement used in the game of lacrosse for catching and throwing the ball, consisting of a long shank curved round at the end, with a net stretched across from the curve to the shank. Also called lacrosse-stick.
