Chem. [f. Gr. χρῡσοειδ-ής like gold + -INE.] A coloring base (C12 H12 N4) intermediate in composition between aniline yellow and phenylene brown. The chrysoidine of commerce is the hydrochloride, a salt of a splendid orange-yellow color.
