Palæont. [f. Gr. κῆτος whale + οὖς(ωτ-) ear + λίθος stone (see -LITE).] A name given to fossil ear-bones, found with associated cetaceous remains, in the Red Crag of Suffolk, where they are extensively used for the manufacture of superphosphate of potash.
