1578. Lyte, Dodoens, V. liii. 616. Or Myrrhis Casshes or Caxes. This herbe is called in English, as Turner sayth, Casshes, or Caxes, bycause Spinsters use the stemmes for quilles and Caxes, to winde yarne upon.
