Old Law. [A modern rendering of OF. brennage, brenage, f. bren BRAN; or of its med.L. form brennagium. Many examples of the latter are in Du Cange; it is also given in Blount, Tomlins, etc.; the Eng. form appears in mod. Dicts.] A payment in, or instead of, bran, made by tenants to feed their lords hounds.
