Gr. ξίφος sword + PLASTRON.] Each of the fourth or hindmost pair of lateral plates in the plastron of a turtle. Hence Xiphiplastral a., pertaining to or constituting a xiphiplastron; sb. a xiphiplastral plate, a xiphiplastron.
