1855. Hare, Cases Chancery, X. 293. Until 1850 (when the Defendants were appointed day oyster meters), all monies received in respect of such compensation were divided equally among them. A list was kept, and each of the eighteen meters in rotation took upon himself the duties of weeksman, whose office it was to allot the boats to each of the meters in his turn.
